All services are done quickly, professionally, and at a reasonable cost. Most jobs are turned around in a week to 10 days. Unless a price is listed below, rates are $40/hr, with a 1 hr. minimum.
Fretwork — Limited time special: Refret starting at $239 including return shipping
Nobody is more meticulous about fretwork than I am. The fretboard is trued, frets are pressed into the fretboard for consistency, sanded level, crowned, and then each fret is checked individually for precise height. Each fret then goes through two stages of polishing, and is then checked for precise height a second time. The fret ends are rounded smooth for a silky, comfortable feel.
Refret service includes a new bone nut and basic setup, including: nut slots adjusted, truss rod adjusted for proper relief, saddles adjusted for string height, and the intonation is set.
If you're shipping a guitar to be worked on, you can save by shipping only the neck to me.
Basic refret service for $239 applies to bolt-neck guitars without binding or heavy finish on the fretboard. For set-neck guitars, archtops, acoustics, or guitars with heavy finish on the fretboard (such as most 70s Fenders) add $40. For guitars with binding, add an additional $40. For example, refretting an ES-335 would cost $319 ($239 base price + $40 for set neck + $40 for binding).
